i let the FACTS be my guide in choosing whether to believe, discontinue to believe or reject an idea - any idea.

i have learned to guard my "dedication" and "passion" and "commitment" to an idea no matter how popular or traditional or politically correct or how long this idea has been held.

i realize loyalty to an idea is always secondary to the pursuit of facts and reason and clear humane conscience.

so i keep my eyes and ears and mind and heart open to the discovery and rediscovery of FACTS that may challenge or dispute or affirm an idea - any idea.

any idea that pulls me a step away from being a humane human being, i immediately and totally and with finality reject.

an idea - any idea - that recreates me into a better human being than i was before, i keep.

it is really that simple.
